KomainuX [NFT]
The Komainu, Pi Xiu or Liondogs have been part of Japanese and Chinese culture for centuries, acting as guardians of homes and shrines. They are known to be fierce in battle, wise in judgement and unwaveringly loyal to their master.
They have always been placed in pairs, a male and female standing protectively at the gate or doorway. The male ventures out in the day to gather wealth for his master while the female, with her cub, protects the treasures at home.
In Chinese folklore the Komainu’s diet consists of gold, silver and other representations of wealth. It would seek these things out, devour them and bring them home. These characteristics have made the Komainu popular among folks who wish to accumulate prosperity.
KomainuX
KomainuX combines the best of the Japanese Komainu and Chinese Pi Xiu. They stand guard at the doors of their masters, gathering and growing treasures within them- treasures that only time can reveal. Be warned that Komainu have a strong sense of justice, they will not work if their master breaks the law.
This short article will outline the basics of the project, the different classifications and our vision. We will be releasing the Komainus over a 8–10 month period. There will only be 100 pairs of Komainus sold as individuals- 100 males and 100 females.
Reuniting the Komainus
As the Komainus work in synergy as a pair, owners will be rewarded by reuniting a Komainu with its other half. The first owner of a complete pair of Komainus will be entitled to claim a special NFT, where their Komainus are reunited against an auspicious backdrop.
The holders of these special NFTs will also be part of the KomainuX community and benefit from the perks we have in store for the community. Note that these NFTs will not be listed for sale by us, but once rightfully claimed can be re-sold freely.
Classification
There will be 300 NFTs in this collection. 100 individual males, 100 individual females and 100 paired. 70% of these items will be classified as common, 20% rare and 10% legendary. As mentioned before, only the 200 individual Komainus will be listed for sale- the 100 paired NFTs can only be claimed from us.
Common
Komainus that sport the original design that represents the birth of KomainuX. They come in different colours and textures. When reunited, they guard a Japanese gateway together in a paired NFT. 70 pairs of common Komainus roam in the community.
Rare
The rare Komainus are adorned and armed with accessories to better equip them for their destined task. When reunited, they too, stand proudly in front of a Japanese gateway. There will be 20 pairs of these Komainus.
Legendary
What makes these Komainus legendary is their upgraded appearances when a special festival or occasion calls for duty. To recognize them immediately, look out for a total transformation and special features such as animation. When reunited, legendary Komainus tell their story through a paired NFT with a backdrop unique to each pair. There will only be 10 legendary pairs of Komainus.
Final word- our vision
As the Komainu stands to seek and accumulate wealth, the profits from this project will be reinvested for further development, spin-off projects and new NFTs. The KomainuX community would receive preference for any and all upcoming NFTs as well as some other surprises we have planned along the way. As such, our Komainu starts to fulfil its duty almost immediately.
However, the success of KomainuX depends on your support and participation- every decision to adopt and reunite the Komainus brings us one step closer to the results that Komainu is destined to deliver!
